Hi Stephen,

Retainer choice is extremely important to not lose any of the results you’ve worked so hard to achieve.
Typically, the orthodontist will determine the best retainer type for your case. at Georgian Dental®, I find what works best is to go consider the following factors – what were the teeth like before treatment, is there any significant remaining overbite, lifestyle. There are also differing types of clear retainers if those are what you prefer. wire retainers that are cemented in are the most reliable as you’ll never have to remember to wear them but tend to collect lots of plaque if not maintained. There is a type of clear retainer system from invisalign which i think is what you’re looking for – works to keep the results with the caveat that your teeth were scanned at the end of your orthodontic treatment. The retainers are manufactured to fit that scan. Whatever the case – get back into retainers quick; i can’t emphasize this enough, otherwise relapse will occur (in most cases)
